I first began my training with Relate in 2013 to become a Family Therapist and Couples Counsellor. I have since also trained as a Dialectical Behavioural Therapist. I have post graduate specialisation in Adult Autism and ADHD.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I qualified as a Youth and Community worker and later as an Adult Educator working in the Further Education sector. I have experience of working within social services, the NHS, and the private sector.

I was the sole proprietor of a childcare business for 14 years, and currently also run a property portfolio alongside my therapeutic work.

Experience

I have worked with Relate since 2013. The focus of my work is to assist individuals, couples, and families to develop and maintain stronger relationships. These relationships maybe with romantic partners, family members, work colleagues or other.

I have worked in both adult and child crisis services, working specifically with adults and children who are experiencing high levels of distress. They may also have been engaging in a range of self harming and destructive behaviours including cutting, substance misuse, violence towards themselves or others.

I have also worked within the Community CAMHS team supporting families and children with mild to moderate mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, sleep problems and behavioural issues.
